And nothing feels more satisfying than seeing the excitement, love and joy on their faces when they hear it. This year, with Appa's passing, I didn't think I could muster the courage to do a recording for his birthday. I didn't think I could get past the hurt and disbelief that this is the first of the many years to come that a recording meant for him, celebrating him, won't be heard by him. But with that sadness was a desire to still celebrate all that he was, and all that he means to us, and will always mean to us till the very end. And what better way to do that than to sing one of his all-time favorite songs, from one of his all-time favorite movies.
